1. Nungnung Waterfall
Hidden 500 steps down a jungle staircase, Nungnung is the most powerful waterfall in Bali accessible for shoots. The mist creates natural diffusion, the scale is epic, and the morning light filtering through the canopy is pure magic. Best shot at 7–9 AM before the crowds arrive. Pro tip: Wear hiking shoes. You'll be carrying gear down 500 steps.
2. Bukit Cinta (Love Hill)
Rolling green hills meet endless sky at this spot near Ubud. It's less known than the famous rice terraces but delivers the same lush backdrop without the tourists. Golden hour here is spectacular — the hills catch fire and the long shadows create depth you can't get anywhere else. Perfect for couples who want that "alone in paradise" feel.
3. Pura Lempuyang (Gates of Heaven)
Yes, it's famous. Yes, there's a queue. But there's a reason: those split gates framing Mount Agung create one of the most iconic compositions in the world. The reflection shot (achieved with a mirror, not water) has become a signature. Go at sunrise to minimize wait time, and bring a patient attitude — the results are worth it.
4. Pantai Nyanyi
A black-sand beach on Bali's less-traveled west coast. Unlike the crowded southern beaches, Nyanyi is quiet, vast, and dramatic. The black sand against a white dress creates impossible contrast. The waves here are strong, so we keep the couple on the shore — but the spray, the wind, and the moody sky make every frame look like a painting.
5. Munduk Rice Terraces
While everyone goes to Tegallalang, we head north to Munduk. The terraces here are steeper, greener, and practically empty. Morning mist rolling through the valley, farmers working the fields, and the silhouette of mountains in the distance. This is where we shot Daniel & Clarissa's pre-wedding — and it remains one of our most-watched films.
What to Know Before You Go
Bali pre-wedding shoots require planning. Permits are needed for most locations (we handle this). The best light is between 6–8 AM and 4–6 PM. Bring multiple outfits — contrast against the landscape matters. And most importantly, trust your filmmaker. The best shots often happen in the moments between poses.
